If Sushi is the food of the gods, then you must worship at Atami. Consistenly, fresh seafood in both the sushi and the sashimi makes dining at Atami always a joy. The sesame dressed salad and miso soup served before your main course are unrivaled. Personally, I prefer their sashimi deluxe to any sushi because it is pure, unadorned slices of fish which allow you to control the amount of wasabi. I also prefer to take a bite of the steamed rice to clear my palate rather than eat it wrapped with the fish. Yet, I always have to order both California Rolls and the Smoked Eel from the a la carte menu. Although Atami has a tempura section to their menu, as well as other `cooked` foods, the sashimi and sushi are so good that I have never ordered from those sections.
